And thus, a portable feast was created!

"Although ancient people ate slices of bread on either side of some type of filling, the sandwich as we know it was born on Aug. 6, 1762, according to The Henry Holt Encyclopedia of Word and PhraseOrigins.

Englishman John Montagu was embroiled in one of his all-night card games when, around 5 a.m., he decided he was hungry. He didn't want to leave his cards untended, so he sent a servant to fetch him cold roast beef between two slices of toasted bread. A portable feast was born.

That explains the structure, but what about the name? It seems that Montagu, the inventor of this contribution to quick cuisine, was the fourth earl of Sandwich."

This is a very important lesson.

Flower Print Friday!

Today, the weekdays end and we venture into the weekend.
It seems I am venturing at full speed.
(by watching Bon Iver videos- I'm embarrassed)

Happy Friday!

An Introduction

Let me introduce myself or a past self which oddly introduces a current self, I guess.

This was me many, many years ago.
Before I hated high school.
Before my growth spurt allowed me to turn on the fan.
Before the curly hair I have now that never looks quite right.
Before I ate vegetables at every dinner.
Before I understood how tiny I was on a big-big world.

I don't remember the name of the girl next to me.

This may possibly be my blogging class, yips!
